Vallouiseite is a rare iron manganese silicate mineral first described from skarn or metamorphic assemblages in the Vallouise area of France's Hautes-Alpes region. It forms brownish to dark prismatic crystals in Fe-Mn enriched calc-silicate assemblages. The mineral contributes to knowledge of Fe-Mn silicate mineralogy in Alpine metamorphic and metasomatic environments.
