Lishiite is a rare calcium iron titanium silicate mineral first described from unusual metamorphic or metasomatic assemblages in China. It forms small pale brown to greenish prismatic crystals in Ca-Fe-Ti enriched rocks. The mineral is of scientific interest for its crystal chemical relationships to garnet and other Ca-Fe-Ti sorosilicates and contributes to understanding element partitioning in Ti-rich metamorphic systems.
