Ziroite is a newly described rare zirconium silicate mineral from alkaline or carbonatite-related geological environments, adding to the growing list of natural Zr-silicate species. It forms colorless to pale yellowish prismatic microcrystals and is of scientific interest for characterizing zirconium incorporation in unusual silicate frameworks beyond the well-known zircon structure. The mineral contributes to understanding Zr geochemistry in alkaline magmatic systems.
