Vrančiceite is a rare manganese iron oxyhydroxide mineral first described from supergene alteration zones of manganese-iron ore deposits in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It forms dark brownish to black microcrystalline masses in oxidized Mn-Fe ore assemblages. The mineral is named for the Vrančica locality in Bosnia and is of scientific interest for its Mn-Fe oxyhydroxide crystal chemistry in supergene environments.
