Tetrahedrite-(Cu) is the copper-dominant member of the tetrahedrite series, a widely occurring cubic sulfosalt mineral forming metallic gray to black tetrahedral crystals or massive aggregates in hydrothermal copper-silver ore veins. It has a Mohs hardness of 3–4 and is one of the most important fahlore minerals, serving as an ore of copper and sometimes silver. Classic localities include Clausthal in Germany, the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, and numerous copper districts worldwide.
