Tetrahedrite-(Cd) is the cadmium-dominant member of the tetrahedrite group of cubic sulfosalt minerals, occurring as metallic gray to black tetrahedral crystals in cadmium-rich hydrothermal sulfide ore deposits. It is one of very few natural mineral phases in which cadmium plays a dominant structural role. The mineral is of scientific interest for characterizing cadmium's incorporation into sulfosalt crystal structures.
