Selenodantopaite is a rare selenium-bearing analog of dantopaite, a silver bismuth selenide sulfide mineral occurring in selenium-rich hydrothermal precious metal deposits. It forms metallic gray micro-grains in close association with other Ag-Bi-Se phases. The mineral adds to knowledge of the complex Ag-Bi-S-Se system in selenium-enriched epithermal and hydrothermal environments.
