Wangpuite is a rare bismuth tellurosulfide mineral first described from gold-silver-telluride ore deposits in China. It forms minute pale gray metallic grains in assemblages of telluride and sulfosalt minerals within epithermal ore systems. The mineral contributes to knowledge of the Bi-Te-S system in Chinese precious metal ore deposits and adds to the growing catalog of bismuth telluride mineral species.
