Nannoniite is a rare copper silicate chloride mineral discovered in the oxidized zones of copper deposits in New South Wales, Australia. It forms pale blue to blue-green microcrystalline aggregates on gossan surfaces, associated with other secondary copper minerals. The mineral is of scientific interest for documenting the unusual combination of silicate and chloride anions in a secondary copper mineral and contributes to the mineralogy of Australian oxidized copper deposits.
