Nioboixiolite-(Fe3+) is a niobium-rich ferric iron-dominant ixiolite-group oxide mineral occurring in oxidized or metamorphosed rare-element granitic pegmatites. It forms black to brownish-black metallic grains and crystals and represents the ferric iron end-member of the niobioixiolite series. The mineral adds to understanding of Fe2+/Fe3+ partitioning in Nb-Ta oxide phases under varying redox conditions.
