Yeite is a rare vanadium silicate mineral first characterized from highly oxidized vanadium ore deposits, forming small dark greenish to brown prismatic or tabular microcrystals in V-enriched gossan assemblages. It is a product of high-temperature or low-temperature vanadium silicate precipitation in oxidizing ore environments. The mineral adds to the growing diversity of known vanadium silicate species.
