Virgilluethite is a newly described rare lead bismuth sulfosalt mineral from polymetallic hydrothermal ore deposits, forming minute metallic gray prismatic grains in Pb-Bi sulfosalt assemblages. It is named in honor of mineralogist Virgil Lueth and contributes to the systematics of the complex lead bismuth sulfosalt mineral group. The mineral is known primarily from its type locality.
