grupo Nioboixiolite-(Fe2+) is a niobium-rich iron-dominant member of the ixiolite, a complex columbite-related oxide mineral crystallizing in the orthorhombic system. It occurs as black to dark brownish metallic prismatic crystals in highly fractionated rare-element granitic pegmatites. The mineral is studied for its place in the niobium-tantalum oxide series and is associated with other Nb-Ta oxide minerals.
